How to find remote partnership manager and channel sales jobs from Nigeria: titles to search, where roles are posted, eligibility, pay benchmarks and tips.

Remote partnership manager jobs are easiest to find under the right job titles, on company hiring boards and on Africa-focused listings. The roles Nigerians can most realistically get are the ones where a company needs someone to build partners in Africa, not in Germany or Texas. Search for titles like "partner manager", "channel partner manager" and "alliances manager" as well as "partnerships manager". Then filter hard for roles whose territory includes Africa, EMEA or worldwide.
This guide covers the job titles to search, where these roles are posted, how to tell which ones are open to you, what employers expect, and what the pay benchmarks really mean for someone based in Lagos, Abuja or Enugu. It also has a section on channel sales roles for experienced professionals, because channel sales is partnerships with a revenue target attached.
Quick answer
To find remote partnership manager jobs from Nigeria, search applicant tracking systems and job boards for partner manager, channel partner manager and alliances titles. Then shortlist roles whose territory covers Africa, EMEA or worldwide and that don't require residence elsewhere. Most roles want several years of B2B sales, business development or account management experience. Show partner-sourced revenue figures, CRM skills and, where needed, a valid passport for travel.
What a remote partnership manager actually does
A partnership manager grows a company's revenue or reach through other organisations instead of selling directly to customers. Those organisations might be resellers, software companies that integrate with your product, banks that distribute a payment service, universities that refer students or agencies that recommend a tool to their clients.
The daily work usually covers four things:
- Recruiting partners: finding organisations that already serve your target customers and convincing them to work with you.
- Onboarding and enabling them: training partner staff, sharing sales material and setting up deal registration or referral tracking.
- Managing the relationship: regular business reviews, fixing problems and agreeing joint plans.
- Reporting: tracking how much pipeline and revenue partners bring in, and which partners are worth more of your time.
Because most of this happens over video calls, email and shared dashboards, partnerships work suits remote setups well. The exception is travel. Many partner roles expect a few trips a year to meet key partners or attend events.
Job titles to search for
Companies use different names for the same job. If you only search "partnership manager", you'll miss a large share of the openings.
| Job title | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Partnerships Manager / Partner Manager | General partner recruitment and management |
| Channel Partner Manager / Channel Sales Manager | Selling through resellers, distributors and MSPs with a revenue quota |
| Partner Development Manager | Recruiting and growing new partners in a territory |
| Alliances Manager | Large strategic partners such as cloud platforms or consultancies |
| Partner Success Manager | Post-signing support so partners perform well |
| Affiliate Manager | Performance partnerships paid per sale or lead |
| Business Development Manager (Partnerships) | BD roles where partners are the main route to revenue |
Affiliate management is related but different: it's closer to performance marketing than to B2B relationship management. If that suits you better, read our affiliate manager career guide.
Partnerships, channel sales and business development: the difference
These three terms overlap, so here is how they differ in practice.
Business development is the broad term for creating new growth opportunities, and it can include direct deals. Partnerships means growth through other organisations, and it is often measured by partner-sourced or partner-influenced pipeline. Channel sales is a type of partnership where partners resell or deliver your product, and the manager carries a revenue quota for sales that go through those partners.
Our business development manager career guide covers the wider BD route if you're still choosing a direction.
Which remote partnership jobs Nigerians can realistically get
Not every "remote" partnership job is open to someone living in Nigeria. Partner roles are often more location-bound than other remote work, because the company wants someone who knows the market, speaks the language and can meet partners in person.
As of October 2026, ALX's hiring board on Greenhouse showed this clearly. Several roles, including an Enterprise Sales Manager, were marked "Remote", while the Partner Success Manager role was tied to Johannesburg (ALX job board). Even companies that hire remotely sometimes want their partner staff in a particular city.
How territory affects eligibility
Every partnership job has a territory. The territory tells you a lot about whether a Nigeria-based applicant fits.
| Territory in the ad | Realistic from Nigeria? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Africa, West Africa, Nigeria | Yes, best fit | Local market knowledge is the main thing being hired |
| EMEA | Sometimes | Depends on the focus country, languages and work-authorisation rules |
| Worldwide / global | Sometimes | Check for country lists or time-zone limits |
| US, UK or Canada only | Rarely | Usually requires residence and right to work there |
| DACH, Nordics, France, etc. | Rarely | Usually requires the local language and nearby residence |
EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) is the tricky one. Safeguard Global advertised a remote Partnerships Manager, EMEA role whose focus was the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). It required "full professional fluency in both English and German" and regular travel across DACH and the UK. The ad was closed when we checked it in October 2026 (Safeguard Global listing). An EMEA label does not mean Africa-based applicants are being looked for. Our planned explainer on what EMEA means in a job ad goes into more detail.
Example of a role open to Africa-based applicants
As of October 2026, Animal Advocacy Africa was advertising a full-time remote Partnerships Manager role. The application deadline is 22 November 2026. The essential criteria include being based in Africa and knowing at least one priority region well, and Nigeria is on the list of priority regions. All of its roles require at least three hours of overlap each weekday within roughly 8am to 5pm in European and African time zones (about UTC+0 to UTC+3). The role also involves travel for several weeks a year (Animal Advocacy Africa careers page).
Two details are worth noticing. First, Lagos is on UTC+1, so the overlap requirement is easy to meet. Second, the organisation says openly that its salaries depend on location and personal circumstances and are typically below industry-equivalent levels (NextBillion listing of the same role). Nonprofit partnership roles are often the easiest way in, but they rarely pay what tech companies pay. Check the live ad before applying, because deadlines and criteria change.
Where to find remote partnership manager jobs
1. Company applicant tracking systems
Most international companies post vacancies on an applicant tracking system (ATS) such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workable. These boards are public, and Google indexes them. Try searches like these:
| Search string | What it finds |
|---|---|
| site:job-boards.greenhouse.io "partner manager" Africa | Greenhouse ads mentioning Africa |
| site:jobs.lever.co "partnerships" remote EMEA | Lever ads covering EMEA |
| site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "channel partner manager" remote | Ashby channel roles |
| "partnerships manager" "based in Africa" | Ads that state African residence |
| "partner development manager" "West Africa" | Territory roles in the region |
Expect a lot of noise. Many results are expired, and some are hybrid even when the title says remote. Open every ad and read the location section before getting excited. Our planned guide on finding jobs on company career pages explains this method step by step.
2. Companies that are growing in Africa
The best targets are companies that need partners in Nigeria and nearby markets. Think about:
- Payments and fintech companies that grow through banks, agents, merchants and platform integrations.
- Software and SaaS (software as a service) companies that sell through local resellers, system integrators and managed service providers (MSPs).
- Edtech and training organisations that partner with universities, employers and governments.
- Development and nonprofit organisations that build networks with local groups, associations and agencies.
- Telecoms, cloud and cybersecurity vendors that run partner programmes with African distributors.
Make a list of 30 to 50 such companies and check their careers pages every week. A role titled "Partnerships Lead, West Africa" might appear on a company's own board weeks before it shows up on an aggregator.
3. Remote job boards, WorkRemote included
General remote boards and aggregators do carry partnership roles, but many of those roles are US-only. On WorkRemote, the business and marketing job listings are remote roles open to applicants living in Nigeria, and each listing shows the company, its website and where applicants may live. Search by keyword ("partner", "channel", "alliances") rather than one exact title.
4. LinkedIn, used properly
Partnership hiring is relationship-driven, so LinkedIn matters more here than in many other remote roles. Follow the heads of partnerships at your target companies. Search posts (not only the Jobs tab) for "hiring partner manager Africa". If you've worked with a vendor's partner team from the other side, for example at a Nigerian reseller or bank, message the people you worked with.
Remote channel sales jobs for experienced professionals
Channel sales roles are the most senior and best-paid end of partnership work, and they're rarely entry-level. A channel partner manager or channel sales manager usually has a quota for revenue sold through partners: resellers, distributors, MSPs and system integrators. Their pay normally includes a base salary plus commission or a bonus tied to that quota.
Who gets hired into channel roles
Channel roles are a natural next step for people who have already worked in or with a channel. In Nigeria, that includes:
- Sales staff at IT distributors and value-added resellers that sell international software, hardware or cloud products.
- Account managers at telecoms companies who managed dealers or enterprise resellers.
- Bank and fintech staff who ran agent networks or merchant acquirer relationships.
- Sales engineers or presales consultants who supported partner deals.
If you've sat on the partner side of a programme, you already understand deal registration, partner tiers, margin structures and joint business plans. Say so plainly on your CV.
What channel employers expect
Channel ads often ask for things like these:
- Five or more years in B2B sales, with several of those years spent selling through or managing partners.
- A track record of a quota, with numbers: partner-sourced revenue, number of active partners or growth in partner pipeline.
- Experience with a CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot. Some employers also want experience with a partner relationship management (PRM) platform.
- Knowledge of how partners make money: margins, rebates, referral fees and marketing development funds.
- Willingness to travel within the territory.
If your experience is mostly direct selling, look at account executive or account manager roles first. See our account executive career guide and the planned guide on remote account manager jobs.
What employers look for in a remote partnership manager
The skills overlap with sales, but the emphasis is different. Partnership managers win by getting other people to sell or recommend for them.
Experience and evidence
Most partnership manager roles are mid-level or senior. Entry points include partner success, partner operations, BD associate and account management roles.
Numbers carry the most weight. Compare these two CV lines:
- Weak: "Managed relationships with key partners."
- Strong: "Signed 9 reseller partners across Lagos and Accra in 12 months; partner deals made up 35% of new revenue."
Example (hypothetical): the second line above is made up to show the format. Use your own real figures. If you don't know your exact numbers, ask your former manager or check old CRM reports before you start writing.
Tools
Expect to use a CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot are the most common), a video calling tool (Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams), shared documents and slides, and sometimes a PRM or affiliate tracking platform. The planned guide on CRM skills for remote sales professionals covers what to learn first.
Market knowledge
For Africa-territory roles, your local knowledge is the main thing you're selling. Be ready to explain how a product would reach customers in Nigeria. Which partner types already serve those customers? How do they get paid? What regulation or payment problems would slow things down? A sharp answer to that beats a generic "I'm a people person" every time.
Pay: what remote partnership managers earn
There is no reliable public salary dataset for partnership managers based in Nigeria, so start with benchmarks and treat them as ceilings, not as offers.
| Benchmark (US, May 2025) | Median annual pay | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Sales managers | $148,270 | BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook |
| Marketing managers | $166,790 | BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook |
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) notes that sales managers' pay typically combines salary with commissions or bonuses. It says a bachelor's degree is the typical entry requirement and that employers usually prefer several years of sales experience (BLS sales managers profile). At the house rate of ₦1,362 to $1 (CBN, 23 October 2026), the sales manager median works out to roughly ₦202 million a year.
That figure is a US benchmark for US-based workers. A Nigeria-based partnership manager will usually be offered less. That's especially true for Africa-territory roles, where companies often set pay by location, and for nonprofit roles, which may state that pay is below industry level. Pay depends on:
- Whether the company sets pay by location or uses one global band.
- Base salary versus variable pay (commission or bonus tied to partner revenue).
- Seniority and territory size (Nigeria only, West Africa or the whole continent).
- Your contract type: employee hired through an employer of record (EOR) or independent contractor.
Ask for the salary range early and ask how the variable part is paid. Our business development manager salary guide gives dollar and naira figures for the nearest role we cover. Be very careful with partnership roles that are commission-only. The planned guide on commission-only sales jobs explains the risks.
How to apply for remote partnership manager jobs: step by step
- Pick your territory angle. Decide which territory you're pitching yourself for (Nigeria, West Africa, Africa-wide or EMEA) and why.
- Rewrite your CV around partner results. Put partner numbers, territories and partner types (resellers, banks, agents, universities) in the top half of page one.
- Build a target list. Note 30 to 50 companies that sell into Africa through partners, with their careers page links.
- Run ATS searches weekly. Use the search strings in the table above and record each role's territory, location rule and deadline in a spreadsheet.
- Check eligibility in the ad itself. Look for country lists, "must be based in", right-to-work wording, language requirements and travel expectations.
- Write a short partner plan for the roles you most want. A one-page outline often gets you noticed (see the example below).
- Reach the hiring manager. After applying, send a short LinkedIn message to the head of partnerships with one specific idea.
- Prepare for a case interview. Partnership interviews often include "How would you build our partner channel in Nigeria?" Have figures and named partner types ready.
Example (hypothetical): a one-page partner plan
Imagine a European HR software company advertising a "Partner Manager, Africa" role. A short plan attached to your application or shared at interview could cover:
- Target partner types: payroll bureaus, HR consultancies and accounting firms serving small and medium companies in Lagos and Nairobi.
- Partner value: a referral fee or resale margin, plus a product their clients keep asking for.
- First 90 days: sign five pilot partners, train their staff, register the first ten deals.
- Risks: naira volatility affecting dollar pricing; partners expecting local billing.
- Metrics: partner-sourced pipeline, number of active partners, time from signing to first deal.
The company and plan are invented to show the format. Keep any real plan to one page and base it on public information about the company.
Interviews for these roles share a lot with BD interviews. Practise with our business development manager interview questions.
Nigeria-specific things to sort out before you apply
Time zones
Lagos is on West Africa Time (WAT, UTC+1) all year. That's the same as Central European time in winter, one hour ahead of London in winter (GMT) and level with London in summer (BST). US East Coast teams are 5 hours behind Lagos in summer and 6 hours behind in winter, from 1 November 2026. EMEA and Africa roles rarely cause time-zone problems. Global roles with US-based managers may mean evening calls.
Travel and documents
Partner roles often involve travel, so a valid international passport matters. Many roles covering Europe will need a visa for each trip, and processing takes time. Raise this in interviews if the ad mentions regular European travel: it's better to be upfront than to have it surface at offer stage.
Power, internet and presentation
You'll be on partner calls and running demos, so a dropped call in front of a reseller's leadership team costs you credibility. Use an inverter or solar backup and two internet connections (for example a fibre or Starlink line plus a MiFi or phone hotspot), and have a quiet, well-lit place for calls.
Contracts, pay and tax
Partnership roles at foreign companies are often offered either through an EOR or as contractor agreements. Read our guide to contractor versus EOR employee arrangements before you sign. For getting commission and salary into Nigeria, see how to receive dollar payments in Nigeria. For your obligations, see tax for remote workers in Nigeria.
Common mistakes and red flags
Mistakes applicants make
- Applying to US-only or DACH-only roles and hoping the location rule will be waived. It usually won't be.
- Describing partnerships vaguely. "Built strong relationships" says nothing. Name partner types, counts and revenue.
- Ignoring the language line. If an ad needs German, French or Portuguese, don't apply without it. French and Portuguese can be a real advantage for Africa-wide roles.
- Searching only one job title. Channel, alliances and partner development roles are often the same job under a different name.
Red flags in "partnership" ads
Some ads use the word "partner" to hide something else. Be wary of:
- "Partnership manager" roles with no base pay where the "partners" are people you recruit into a scheme.
- Ads asking you to pay for a starter kit, training or "partner registration".
- Recruiters who move you to WhatsApp or Telegram and offer a job without a proper interview.
- Companies with no website, no LinkedIn presence or no named leadership team.

Frequently asked questions
Can Nigerians get remote partnership manager jobs with foreign companies?
Yes, when the role's territory includes Nigeria, Africa, EMEA or worldwide and the ad doesn't require residence or work authorisation elsewhere. Africa-territory roles are the most realistic, because local market knowledge is what the company is hiring for. Always confirm eligibility in the live ad.
Do I need experience to become a remote partnership manager?
Usually yes. Most roles ask for several years of B2B sales, business development or account management. Without that, look at partner success, partner operations or BD associate roles, which can lead to manager roles later.
What is the difference between a partnership manager and a channel manager?
A channel manager is a type of partnership manager who focuses on partners that resell or deliver the product, and usually carries a revenue quota for those sales. A broader partnership manager might also handle referral, technology integration or co-marketing partners with softer targets.
Are remote channel sales jobs open to experienced Nigerian professionals?
Some are, especially roles covering Africa or the Middle East and Africa. Employers prefer people who have managed or worked inside reseller, distributor, MSP or agent networks, with quota results to show. Roles covering European or North American channels usually need local residence or languages.
How much does a remote partnership manager earn?
There's no reliable public figure for Nigeria-based partnership managers. As a US benchmark, the BLS reports a median of $148,270 a year for sales managers (May 2025). Remote offers to people based in Nigeria are usually lower and often include commission or a bonus on top of base pay.
Which tools should a partnership manager know?
A CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot is the main one, plus video calling, shared slides and spreadsheets for partner reporting. Some companies also use a partner relationship management or affiliate tracking platform, which you can usually learn on the job.
Is a partnership manager job the same as an affiliate manager job?
Not quite. Affiliate managers run performance partnerships, usually with publishers or creators paid per sale or lead, so the work is closer to marketing. Partnership managers more often manage business-to-business relationships with resellers, platforms or institutions.
Key takeaways
- Search several titles: partner manager, channel partner manager, partner development manager and alliances manager, not just "partnerships manager".
- Territory decides eligibility: Africa-focused roles fit Nigerian applicants best, while DACH, US or UK roles usually need local residence or languages.
- Company ATS boards and the careers pages of firms growing in Africa are where many of these roles appear first.
- Channel sales roles suit experienced people who have managed resellers, distributors or agent networks and can show quota results.
- US pay figures are benchmarks only; Nigeria-based offers are usually lower and often include variable pay.
- A valid passport, reliable power and internet, and a short partner plan make your application more credible.
Next steps
Start by rewriting the top half of your CV around partner numbers. Then run the ATS searches above once a week.
