These Terms of Service set out the rules for using the WorkRemote.ng website and services. Please read them carefully. By creating an account, becoming a member or otherwise using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and WorkRemote.ng (WorkRemote Nigeria, "we", "us" or "our"), located at Atlantic Centre, Chevron Drive, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information, and our Refund Policy explains when you can get a refund. Both form part of these terms.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Who can use our services

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must give us information that is true, accurate and up to date, and keep it that way.
  • You may only have one account, and it must be in your own name.
  • You must not use our services if we have previously suspended or closed your account for breaking these terms.

3. Your account

You sign in to your account with a link we send to your email address. Because of this, anyone with access to your email could sign in as you, so please keep your email account secure and do not forward your sign-in links.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, tell us straight away at jobs@workremote.ng.

4. Our services

WorkRemote.ng helps people find and apply for remote jobs. Depending on your plan, our services include:

  • job listings that you can search, filter and save;
  • a candidate profile and CV that you can use to apply for jobs;
  • applying through Easy Apply or our application form, or by going to the employer's email address or website;
  • job alerts by email for searches you choose;
  • for Premium members: editing of your CV and LinkedIn profile by our team, our team applying to jobs on your behalf (up to 100 a day), one-on-one interview preparation sessions, guidance on digital nomad visas, and introductions to partner recruiters and companies.

We may change, add or remove features from time to time to improve the service. If we remove a significant part of a paid plan, we will tell you and, where appropriate, offer you the option to cancel.

5. Job listings and employers

Jobs on our website are offered by third-party employers and recruiters, not by WorkRemote.ng, unless a listing clearly says otherwise. We review listings and aim to publish genuine remote roles that are open to applicants from Nigeria, but we cannot check every detail.

  • Employers decide who to interview and hire, and on what terms. We are not a party to any job offer or employment contract between you and an employer.
  • Our interview guarantee is that you will be invited to a job interview within the first week of your Premium membership. It is a promise about an interview invite, not a job offer: we do not guarantee that you will be offered a job, or that a listing is accurate, complete or still open.
  • Check each employer and offer carefully before sharing personal or financial information or accepting a job.
  • A genuine employer should never ask you to pay to be hired. If anyone asks you for money in connection with a job you found on our website, do not pay, and report it to us at jobs@workremote.ng.

6. Applying for jobs

When you apply through Easy Apply or our application form, you ask us to send your application, including your profile details, CV, cover note and any screening answers, to the employer or recruiter for that job. Please check your application before you send it; once it has been sent, we cannot recall it from the employer.

When you apply by email or on a company's own website, you deal with the employer directly, and their own terms and privacy policy apply.

If you are a Premium member, you authorise our team to apply to suitable jobs on your behalf using your profile and CV, and to introduce you to partner recruiters and companies. Tell us if there are employers or types of role you do not want us to apply to. You remain responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile and CV.

7. Membership plans and payments

  • Basic: free. You can see job listings and apply to jobs.
  • Premium: ₦29,999 a month, paid in advance and renewed automatically every month until you cancel.

Payments are handled securely by a third-party payment processor, and the processor's own terms also apply to your payment. Prices are in Nigerian naira and include any taxes we are required to charge unless we say otherwise.

By subscribing to Premium, you authorise us, through our payment processor, to charge your chosen payment method at the start of each monthly period. If a renewal payment fails, we may keep your Premium access for a limited time while the payment is retried. If the payment still does not go through, your plan will end.

We may change our prices. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you before it takes effect, and the new price will only apply from your next renewal after that notice. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

8. Cancelling your membership

You can cancel Premium at any time from Billing in your account, no questions asked. Your subscription then stops renewing: you keep Premium until the end of the month you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again.

If you change your mind before that month ends, you can choose Keep Premium on the same page and your membership carries on as before. Cancelling does not by itself refund the month you are in; see section 9.

9. Refunds

If we do not review your CV and LinkedIn profile within 72 hours of you joining Premium and uploading your CV, we will give you a 100% refund. Any other refund request is reviewed case by case. Refunds are paid to the original payment method.

Our Refund Policy explains how this works and how to ask for a refund. Nothing in these terms affects any right to a refund that you have under Nigerian consumer protection law.

10. Acceptable use

When using our services, you must not:

  • give false or misleading information, or pretend to be someone else;
  • upload content that is unlawful, offensive, defamatory or that you do not have the right to share;
  • use our services to send spam, scams or unsolicited messages to employers, recruiters or other members;
  • copy, scrape or collect job listings or other content from our website in bulk, or republish them, without our written permission;
  • share your account or Premium benefits with others, or resell our services;
  • try to get around our security, access parts of the service you are not allowed to, or interfere with how the service works;
  • upload viruses or other harmful software;
  • use our services in any way that breaks the law.

11. Reviews and other content you share

You keep ownership of the content you give us, such as your CV, profile, messages and reviews. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content to provide our services to you, for example to send your CV to employers or to edit it as part of a CV review.

When you submit a review, you also allow us to publish it on our website and in our promotional materials, together with the name and headline you gave, for as long as we run the service. Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience. We read every review before it appears, and we may decline or remove a review that is false, offensive, off-topic or breaks these terms. We do not change the meaning of a review we publish.

12. Our content and intellectual property

Our website, our name and logo, and the content we create (including articles, guides and the way our job listings are presented) belong to WorkRemote.ng or the people who license them to us. You may view and share links to our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, sell or reuse our content without our written permission. Company names and logos in job listings belong to their owners.

13. Third-party websites and services

Our website links to employers' websites and other third-party services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

14. Disclaimers

We work hard to provide a useful and reliable service, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that:

  • our service will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors;
  • any job listing, article or guide is complete, accurate or up to date;
  • using our services, including Premium services, will result in a job offer or a particular salary (our interview guarantee in section 5 still applies).

Our CV editing, interview preparation and visa guidance are given to help you, but they are not legal, immigration, tax or financial advice. Visa decisions are made by the authorities of each country, and requirements change, so always check official sources before you apply.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, WorkRemote.ng is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of income, earnings or opportunities, arising from your use of our services, from any job listing, or from your dealings with an employer or recruiter.

Our total liability to you for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights under consumer protection law.

16. Your responsibility to us

If you break these terms or the law while using our services, and this causes a claim against us by someone else, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and costs we incur as a result.

17. Suspending or closing accounts

You can stop using our services at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing jobs@workremote.ng. If you have Premium, please cancel it as described in section 8.

We may suspend or close your account, or remove your content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first. If we close your account without a good reason, we will refund the unused part of any Premium month you have paid for.

Sections of these terms that by their nature should continue after your account closes, such as those on content, liability and governing law, will continue to apply.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve it, the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, will have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a complaint to a consumer protection authority.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our service or the law changes. We will change the "last updated" date at the top, and if the changes are significant we will tell you by email or with a notice on our website before they take effect. If you keep using our services after the changes take effect, the updated terms will apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel your membership and stop using our services.
