The best way to find remote Flutter developer jobs from Nigeria is to search companies' own hiring boards and remote-only job boards. Search for "Flutter" and "mobile engineer" together, then drop every ad whose location line doesn't include Nigeria, Africa, EMEA or "anywhere". That last step matters most. As of October 2026, many "remote" Flutter ads are open only to people in one country, such as Brazil, Poland, Germany or the US.
This guide shows where Flutter roles get posted and the search strings that bring up ones open to you. It also covers how to read the location line on an ad and what employers want to see before they shortlist you. You'll also find honest pay benchmarks, a weekly search routine, and the Nigerian details (time zones, power, getting paid) that decide whether a role works for you.
Quick answer
To find remote Flutter jobs you can get from Nigeria:
- Search remote-only boards and companies' applicant tracking systems for "Flutter", "Dart" and "mobile engineer".
- Filter for roles open to Nigeria, Africa, EMEA or worldwide.
- Check each ad's location line on the company's own page.
Employers usually want published Android or iOS apps, solid state management, and some native or backend skill. Expect pay below US local rates, and never pay to apply.
Where remote Flutter jobs are actually posted
Flutter jobs are spread across five kinds of sources. Each one has a catch for Nigerian applicants.
| Source | What you find | The Nigeria catch |
|---|---|---|
| Aggregators (Jobgether, Remote Rocketship, Indeed) | Lots of Flutter ads in one place | Most are tied to one country |
| Company boards (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable) | The original ad and real location line | You must know the company name |
| Nigerian and African fintechs | Roles marked "Remote, Nigeria" | Pay is often in naira |
| Hacker News "Who is hiring?" | Founders posting directly | Many posts are US or EU only |
| Paid Africa-focused boards | Curated Africa-eligible roles | You pay a subscription |
Aggregators show what's out there, not what's open to you
Aggregators are good for a first look, but their headline numbers mislead. When we opened Jobgether's remote Flutter developer pages on 27 October 2026, the general listing page showed 12 roles. Their locations were Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Portugal, Taiwan and Delaware (USA), with one marked "Remote from EMEA". None said Africa or Nigeria, and every ad was "30+ days ago".
Remote Rocketship's Flutter page showed the same pattern. Its 20 newest ads were tagged Germany, Brazil, Poland, Serbia, Ukraine, Argentina, India, US and Canada, and similar single-country locations.
Jobgether also has a Nigeria filter for Flutter developer roles. That filtered page showed eight listings: one marked "Remote from Nigeria" and seven "Remote from Anywhere". All were more than 30 days old, so open each ad and confirm it's still live before you spend time on a cover letter.
Company boards are where the truth is
Most tech companies post jobs through an applicant tracking system (ATS), the software that hosts the job page and the application form. Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workable are the common ones. The ATS page shows the real location line, and it is the page that closes when the role is filled.
One example from 27 October 2026: Moniepoint's Greenhouse jobs board listed a Principal Mobile Engineer (POS Terminal) role in several remote locations, including "Remote, Lagos, Nigeria". The ad itself asks for 8 or more years of POS terminal experience and strong native Android (Java or Kotlin). It lists Flutter as "a plus", not the main skill.
That is a typical pattern. Plenty of Flutter work sits inside "mobile engineer" titles, so a search for "Flutter developer" alone misses it. Openings change quickly, so check the live board yourself.
Hacker News "Who is hiring?"
Every month, Hacker News runs an "Ask HN: Who is hiring?" thread where people at hiring companies post roles directly. The October 2026 thread asks posters to state the location and write "REMOTE", adding a qualifier like "REMOTE (US)" if the country is restricted. Recruiters and job boards are not allowed to post.
Search the page for "Flutter", "Dart" and "mobile", then read only the posts marked "REMOTE (Worldwide)" or that name Europe or EMEA. Flutter rarely appears by name, so treat the thread as a supplement, not your main source.
Paid boards
Some Africa-focused boards charge for access. RemoteAfrica's Hunter plan, for example, costs $20 a month with no free tier as of October 2026 (about ₦27,240 at ₦1,362 to $1, the CBN rate of 23 October 2026). Paying a board for curated listings is legal, and it's a different thing from paying an employer or recruiter to be hired, which you should never do. Try the free sources for a few weeks first.
How to search so Nigeria-eligible Flutter roles show up
Search engines and job boards return what you ask for, so ask precisely. These search strings work in Google, LinkedIn Jobs and most board search boxes:
"flutter" remote "nigeria"for roles that name Nigeria"flutter" OR "dart" remote ("EMEA" OR "Africa" OR "worldwide" OR "anywhere")for regional and global roles"mobile engineer" "flutter" remoteto catch ads where Flutter is in the description, not the titlesite:job-boards.greenhouse.io flutterandsite:jobs.lever.co flutterto search ATS pages directly"cross-platform" "mobile" remote "EMEA"for ads that describe Flutter without naming it in the title
Google doesn't always respect the site: filter for ATS domains. When we tested these searches in October 2026, several returned aggregator pages instead. If that happens, go to companies you already know use Flutter and open their careers page yourself.
Title variants worth searching
Flutter roles appear under many names. Search all of these:
- Flutter Developer, Flutter Engineer, Senior Flutter Engineer
- Mobile Engineer, Mobile Developer, Mobile Software Engineer
- Cross-Platform Developer, Mobile App Developer
- Dart Developer (rare, but used by some agencies)
- Full Stack Developer (Flutter), where the role also covers a backend such as Firebase, Node.js or Go
Build a target list from companies that use Flutter
The official Flutter showcase lists companies with apps built in Flutter. They include Nubank, SoFi, talabat, Wolt, Betterment, Klasha, Travelstart, Toyota, BMW and Google's own apps such as Google Pay and NotebookLM.
Using Flutter doesn't mean a company hires remotely from Nigeria, but the list gives you names to check. Open each company's careers page and filter for mobile roles. Our planned guide on finding jobs on company career pages walks through that method in more detail.
How to read the location line on a Flutter ad
The location line decides whether you can apply. A good Flutter CV is wasted on an ad that only accepts people in Poland.
| Location wording | What it usually means for you |
|---|---|
| Remote, Nigeria / Remote, Lagos | Open to you; check if pay is naira or dollars |
| Remote, Africa or a list with Nigeria | Open to you |
| Remote, EMEA | Often open, but some EMEA roles exclude certain countries |
| Remote, Worldwide / Anywhere | Open, unless the description adds limits |
| Remote, Brazil / Poland / US | Not open to you, however good the role |
| Remote (US) or US work authorisation | Not open to a Nigeria-based applicant |
Read the whole ad, not only the tag. Some "anywhere" ads ask for working hours that overlap with US Pacific time or name a short list of countries further down. Some EMEA roles go only to countries where the company has a legal entity.
We cover this in depth in the planned guides on what EMEA means in a job ad and how to check whether a role accepts Nigerian residents.
What employers expect from a remote Flutter developer
Employers hiring remotely expect you to ship and maintain apps on your own, with little hand-holding. Requirements vary by company, but these skills come up again and again in Flutter ads.
| Skill area | What employers look for |
|---|---|
| Dart and Flutter core | Widgets, layouts, navigation, async code |
| State management | Bloc, Riverpod or Provider, and why you chose one |
| Backend and data | REST or GraphQL APIs, Firebase, local storage |
| Native knowledge | Platform channels, Kotlin/Swift basics, store publishing |
| Testing and CI/CD | Unit and widget tests, Codemagic or GitHub Actions |
| Remote habits | Clear written updates, PR descriptions, async work |
Native skill is the gap that most often separates mid-level Flutter developers from senior ones. The Moniepoint ad above is native-first with Flutter as a bonus. Fintech, payments and hardware-heavy apps in particular expect you to go below the Flutter layer when needed.
For the full skills path, courses and tools, see our guide on becoming a remote mobile developer from Nigeria. Its sister page has mobile developer interview questions that suit Flutter interviews too.
Learning Flutter cheaply
Flutter's official documentation includes tutorials, cookbook recipes, a learning pathway and DartPad. DartPad runs simple Flutter code in your browser, which helps if your laptop is slow or you're still setting up. Use the official docs before you pay for any course.
The proof that gets a Flutter CV shortlisted
Remote hiring managers can't watch you work, so they look for evidence. For Flutter, the strongest evidence is a live app.
Publish at least one app
A link to an app on Google Play or the App Store shows you can take a project all the way to users. That means signing, store listings, review and updates.
- Google Play: a developer account has a US$25 one-time registration fee (about ₦34,050 at ₦1,362 to $1, CBN rate of 23 October 2026). New personal accounts must meet app testing requirements and verify access to an Android device before an app goes live. Plan for that extra time.
- Apple App Store: the Apple Developer Program costs $99 a year (about ₦134,840 at the same rate). You need an Apple Account with two-factor authentication and your legal name. You also need a Mac to build and submit iOS apps, so many Nigerian developers start on Android and add iOS later.
Fees can change, so check both pages before you pay (figures as of October 2026).
Make your GitHub readable
Put two or three Flutter projects on GitHub. Give each one a README that explains what the app does, the state management choice, how to run it, and screenshots or a short screen recording.
One well-tested project with clean commits beats ten half-finished tutorial clones. Our planned guide on building a software portfolio for remote employers covers structure and presentation.
Optional: publish a package
A small, useful package on pub.dev, Dart's package repository, shows you understand APIs, documentation and versioning. It isn't required, but it helps you stand out among applicants with similar CVs.
Example (hypothetical): turning a side project into proof
Example (hypothetical): A Flutter developer in Ibadan builds a market-price tracker. It pulls data from a public API, caches it offline for when the network drops, and uses Riverpod for state. She publishes it on Google Play and writes a README that explains the offline approach. She also adds widget tests and a GitHub Actions build. On her CV, the line becomes: "Built and published an offline-first Flutter app on Google Play, with automated tests and CI." That is concrete enough for a hiring manager to click and check.
What remote Flutter jobs pay, and what applies to you
There's no reliable public dataset for Flutter developers based in Nigeria and hired remotely. Use these benchmarks for context only.
- US benchmark: the US Bureau of Labor Statistics gives a median annual wage of $135,980 for software developers in May 2025. That covers all software developers employed in the US, not Flutter specifically, and not remote workers abroad.
- Remote Flutter ads with salaries: Remote Rocketship's Flutter page gives averages of about $100,000 a year for junior roles, about $108,000 for mid-level, about $134,000 for senior and about $145,000 for lead, as of October 2026. It says these are calculated from salary data in job postings. Most of those ads were tied to the US, Europe or other single countries, so treat the figures as a ceiling, not what you'll be offered.
- Nigeria-based ads: some Nigerian companies hiring remote Flutter engineers pay in naira. Others, like Moniepoint's ad above, say "attractive salary" without a figure.
As a rule, foreign companies pay Nigeria-based developers less than their US local rates. Pay depends on whether the company sets salaries by location, whether the company hires you as a contractor or an employee, your seniority, and how much native and backend work you can do.
Our mobile developer salary guide gives dollar and naira ranges. The planned article on how international companies set salaries for remote employees explains location-based pay.
A weekly routine for finding remote Flutter jobs
Job hunting goes better with a fixed routine than with random scrolling. This routine takes about four to five hours a week.
- Monday: run your saved search strings on Google, LinkedIn Jobs and two aggregators. Save every ad that names Nigeria, Africa, EMEA or worldwide.
- Monday: open each saved ad on the company's own ATS page. Delete any that are closed, country-restricted, or have no company website.
- Tuesday: check the careers pages of 10 companies from your target list (Flutter showcase companies, African fintechs, agencies that hire remote mobile developers).
- Wednesday: apply to the three to five best matches. Adjust your CV's top section to each ad's stack (Bloc or Riverpod, Firebase or REST, any native work).
- Thursday: improve your proof. Add tests to a project, fix a README, or push an app update.
- Friday: log every application in a spreadsheet (company, role, date, link, status) and follow up on any that are 7 to 10 days old.
The planned guide on how to prepare for a take-home coding test helps when an application moves forward. Flutter roles often include a small build task.
Nigeria-specific things to sort out before you apply
A remote Flutter job only works if your setup can handle it. Hiring managers sometimes ask about this in interviews.
Time zones
Nigeria is on WAT (UTC+1) all year. From 25 October 2026, London is on GMT, one hour behind Lagos. Central European roles run on the same clock as Lagos in winter.
US Eastern is 5 hours behind Lagos until 1 November 2026 and 6 hours behind after that. US Pacific is 8 to 9 hours behind. A US company asking for "4 hours overlap with Pacific time" means working into the night in Lagos, so check the hours before you apply.
Power, internet and equipment
Flutter builds, emulators and video calls all need steady power and data. Budget for:
- an inverter, solar setup or generator backup
- two internet sources, such as a fibre or Starlink connection plus a MiFi or phone hotspot
- a laptop with enough RAM to run Android Studio and an emulator together
- a Mac if you plan to ship iOS builds
Contract type and getting paid
Most foreign companies hire Nigeria-based developers as independent contractors or through an employer of record (EOR), such as Deel or Remote. Our guide to contractor versus EOR employee arrangements explains the difference in rights and benefits.

Red flags in Flutter job ads
Some "Flutter developer" ads are scams. Others are legitimate but bad for you. Watch for:
- Fees to apply, train or get "placed". Real employers don't charge candidates. Paying for a job board subscription is your choice. Paying an employer or recruiter to be hired is a scam sign.
- Huge unpaid "tests". A take-home task of a few hours is normal. Building a complete production app for free is not.
- Chat-only hiring. Interviews held only on Telegram or WhatsApp, with no company email or website, are a warning sign.
- Requests for your BVN, card details or bank logins before any written offer. Payment details belong in a signed contract, through the company's payroll or contractor platform.
- Stale reposts. Aggregators keep old ads up. If the original ATS page is gone (we hit several "404" and "410 Gone" pages while researching this guide), the job is gone too.
Our main guide to spotting remote job scams in Nigeria covers the wider set of tricks.
Frequently asked questions
Is Flutter in demand for remote jobs?
Yes. As of October 2026, aggregators such as Jobgether and Remote Rocketship carry steady streams of remote Flutter ads, and Flutter's showcase includes large companies such as Nubank, SoFi and BMW. Most of those ads are limited to particular countries, though, so the number open to Nigerians is much smaller than the headline count.
Can I get a remote Flutter job from Nigeria with no work experience?
It's hard, but not impossible. Most remote Flutter ads ask for at least two years of professional experience. Juniors do better by publishing apps, freelancing for small clients, or joining Nigerian companies that hire remotely within Nigeria. Our guide to remote jobs for beginners with no experience covers realistic entry routes.
Do I need a published app to get hired as a Flutter developer?
You don't strictly need one, but it helps a lot. A live app on Google Play or the App Store shows you can handle signing, store review and updates, which is exactly what remote employers worry about. Google Play's one-time $25 fee makes Android the cheaper place to start, as of October 2026.
Should I learn native Android or iOS as well as Flutter?
Yes, if you want senior roles or fintech work. Many mobile ads ask for platform channels, Kotlin or Swift knowledge, or native SDK integration. Moniepoint's October 2026 mobile engineer ad, for example, puts native Android first and treats Flutter as a plus.
Flutter or React Native: which has more remote jobs open to Nigerians?
We haven't found a reliable count for either framework restricted to Nigeria-eligible roles, so we won't guess. Both appear in remote ads. Learn the one that matches the apps you want to build and the companies you're targeting. The planned guide on remote React Native developer jobs covers the other side.
How much does a remote Flutter developer earn?
It varies widely. Remote Rocketship's averages from posted Flutter salaries run from about $100,000 a year (junior) to about $145,000 (lead) as of October 2026, but those figures are mostly for US and European ads. Nigeria-based contractors usually earn less than US local pay, and some Nigerian employers pay in naira.
Are paid remote job boards worth it for Flutter developers?
Sometimes. A curated Africa-focused board can save search time, but company ATS pages, Hacker News "Who is hiring?" threads and free aggregators often carry the same roles. Try free sources for a month first, and never confuse a board subscription with a recruiter asking you to pay for a job.
Key takeaways
- Most "remote" Flutter ads are tied to one country, so check the location line before anything else.
- Search "mobile engineer" and "cross-platform" as well as "Flutter", because many Flutter roles don't have Flutter in the title.
- Confirm every ad on the company's own ATS or careers page, since aggregators keep stale listings.
- A published app, a clean GitHub with tests, and some native or backend skill are the strongest proof for remote Flutter hiring.
- US salary figures are a ceiling, not an offer: Nigeria-based developers are usually paid below US local rates.
- Sort out time-zone overlap, power and internet backup, and how you'll get paid before you accept.
