Remote sales development representative salary for Nigerians
Remote SDR and lead generation roles open to all countries published base pay of about $650 to $1,500 a month in the ads we checked in October 2026. Most SDR packages add commission or a bonus per qualified meeting, which can be a large share of earnings.
Published figures were scarce: many SDR ads said only 'competitive base plus bonus'. We list the ones that gave numbers.

Remote sales development representative pay by level
Yearly pay in US dollars for remote sales development representative roles open to people outside the US and UK, then the same figures in naira a month.
| Level | Dollars a year | Naira a month |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | $7,800 to $9,600 | ₦885,000 to ₦1,090,000 |
| Mid | $15,600 to $18,000 | ₦1,771,000 to ₦2,043,000 |
Naira at ₦1,362 to $1, 23 October 2026 (CBN NFEM weighted average), before tax and transfer fees, rounded to the nearest ₦1,000. The rate moves, so treat naira figures as a guide.
Where these figures come from
- Entry
- Coconut's B2B lead generation and business development representative role, open to all countries, at $650 to $800 a month for a 20-hour week on PST hours (October 2026). That's part-time; it asks for a proven appointment-setting record and cold calling.
- Mid
- GoFasti's full-time lead generation specialist role at $1,300 to $1,500 a month (October 2026), for 3+ years of B2B lead generation, sales development or appointment setting. The ad lists all countries but its description says the role is based in Latin America.
How that compares
Reference points from other markets. Remote pay for people in Nigeria is usually below US and UK local pay.
- US median, wholesale and manufacturing sales reps, non-technical (BLS, May 2025; not SDR-specific) (bls.gov)$72,080 a year
- UK starter salary, sales representative (National Careers Service) (nationalcareers.service.gov.uk)£23,000 a year
- Nigeria local, junior sales representative, lower figure (Paylab, self-reported) (paylab.com)₦132,582 a month
- Nigeria local, junior sales representative, upper average (Paylab, self-reported) (paylab.com)₦446,405 a month
What affects your pay
Base and variable split. SDR pay is usually a base plus commission or a per-meeting bonus. Ask what the on-target total is and what share of SDRs hit it.
Market you sell into. US-facing SDR roles generally pay more than Africa-facing ones, and come with afternoon and evening hours in Lagos.
Inbound or outbound. Outbound cold calling roles are harder and often pay more.
Experience and seniority. Senior BDR roles, such as Hire Hangar's (open to Nigeria, 3+ years, no published figure), sit above entry SDR pay.
Suspiciously high offers. We saw one worldwide 'SDR' ad in 2026 promising a base in the thousands of dollars a week. Treat figures far above the market with caution and verify the company before applying.
Local comparison. Paylab's self-reported figures for junior sales reps in Nigeria run from about ₦133,000 to ₦446,000 a month, roughly $97 to $325 at ₦1,373 to $1 (Wise, 25 October 2026).
Negotiating your offer
Negotiate the whole package, not just the base: commission rate, what counts as a qualified meeting, how quickly commission is paid, and the ramp period before your quota is fully enforced.
Ask directly about the path to account executive and the pay at that level. A slightly lower base with a clear, written promotion path can be the better deal.
Questions people ask
How is SDR commission usually paid?
Often per qualified meeting held or per opportunity created, sometimes with a bonus when a deal closes. It's commonly paid monthly or quarterly.
Are remote SDR jobs paid in dollars?
Foreign employers and agencies usually pay in dollars through Deel, Remote.com, Payoneer or a payroll platform. Nigerian companies usually pay in naira.
Is $1,000 a month good for a remote SDR in Nigeria?
It's within the range we saw for base pay in October 2026, especially if there's commission on top. Experienced SDRs and senior BDRs should aim higher.

Salaries for related roles
- Account Executive
An account executive (AE) runs the sales process from first meeting to signed contract: discovery calls, demos, proposals, negotiation and closing, against a revenue quota. Nigerians do close deals remotely for US, European and African companies, but AE roles rarely hire beginners, and the pay depends heavily on commission.
- Appointment Setter
An appointment setter contacts potential customers by phone, text, LinkedIn or Instagram and books them into calls with a salesperson, coach or consultant. It is a common remote job for Nigerians working with US businesses and agencies, but the market is full of commission-only and pay-to-train offers, so choose employers that pay a base.
- Business Development Manager
A business development manager finds and wins new customers, partners or markets for a company, usually with a revenue or pipeline target and commission on top of base pay. Nigerians do it remotely for fintech, SaaS, logistics and payments companies, especially roles covering Africa, though some jobs expect travel.
- Customer Success Manager
A customer success manager (CSM) owns a group of business customers after they buy, making sure they get results from the product so they renew and spend more. Nigerians do win remote CSM roles, including EMEA roles at global software companies, but it is rarely a first job: most CSMs come from support, onboarding or account management.
