Searching for "pricing analyst" alone will not find you many remote pricing analyst jobs. A lot of pricing work is advertised as pricing strategy analyst, revenue analyst, deal desk analyst or data scientist (pricing). The roles you can do from Nigeria usually come from companies that already operate in Africa or hire across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Fully remote pricing analyst jobs open to Nigerian residents do exist, but there aren't many. When we checked live ads in October 2026, most remote pricing roles were limited to the UK, the US, Poland or another single country.
This guide covers the job titles to search for, where pricing roles are posted, how to filter by location before you spend time on an application, what the pay benchmarks look like and why they are not your offer, and how to build evidence that you can set prices as well as report on them.
Quick answer
Search for several titles: pricing analyst, pricing strategy analyst, revenue analyst, monetisation analyst, deal desk analyst and data scientist (pricing). Use the location filters on company job boards (Lever, Greenhouse), remote aggregators and WorkRemote.ng. Apply only where the ad accepts Nigeria, Africa, EMEA or worldwide candidates. Employers usually ask for strong Excel and SQL, a BI tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and evidence of pricing or commercial analysis.
What a remote pricing analyst actually does
A pricing analyst works out what a company should charge and checks whether its current prices are working. In practice the work involves:
- Tracking competitor prices and market rates
- Modelling how a price change affects volume, revenue and margin
- Building discount rules and approval limits for the sales team
- Running and reading pricing experiments (A/B tests on plans, fees or bundles)
- Maintaining pricing calculators and dashboards that finance and sales rely on
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics does not have a separate "pricing analyst" occupation. Its closest category is operations research analysts, and its description of operations research analysts lists setting prices and evaluating pricing models among their tasks, along with supply chain and resource planning.
The job looks different in each industry, which matters when you choose where to apply:
| Industry | What pricing work looks like | Typical extra skill |
|---|---|---|
| SaaS / software | Plan tiers, discounts, deal desk approvals | Salesforce, CPQ tools |
| Fintech and payments | Transaction fees, FX margins, merchant rates | SQL, unit economics |
| Mobility and delivery | Dynamic pricing, surge, rider and driver incentives | Python, experimentation |
| E-commerce and retail | Product prices, promotions, competitor tracking | Excel, scraping tools |
| Manufacturing and medtech | Price lists, tenders, regional price bands | ERP data, contract terms |
| Insurance | Premium rating models | Often actuarial or statistical training |
Insurance pricing is its own specialism. UK and European insurance pricing roles often expect actuarial study or a strong statistics degree, so a general business analyst will usually have a better chance in SaaS, fintech or e-commerce first.
Why pricing roles are hard to find remotely from Nigeria
Pricing is close to revenue, so companies like their pricing people near the commercial team and inside a country where they already have a legal entity. That is the main reason so few ads are open to Nigeria.
Two snapshots from October 2026 show the pattern:
- A Remote Rocketship page of remote pricing analyst jobs in Europe listed 15 pricing roles (for example at G-P, Medtronic, Revvity and Team Internet). Every one was tied to particular countries, such as the UK, Poland, Czechia, Spain or France.
- Built In's remote pricing analyst search showed two senior roles, both remote within the UK only.
"Remote" in those ads means you can work from home inside that country. It does not mean anywhere in the world. Before you apply, learn the difference between these four kinds of ad:
| Ad says | What it usually means for you |
|---|---|
| Remote, UK (or US, Poland) | Must live there and have the right to work there; skip |
| Remote, EMEA | Europe, Middle East and Africa; check Nigeria isn't excluded |
| Remote, Africa or lists Lagos | Built for you; apply |
| Remote, worldwide / anywhere | Open in principle; check time-zone and payroll notes |
For a fuller explanation of the region labels, see what EMEA means in a remote job description. For a step-by-step check on any single ad, read how to verify whether a remote job accepts Nigerian residents.
What a real EMEA restriction looks like
Read the location sentence word for word, because it is often stricter than the header. An expired Hotjar ad for a Sales Data Analyst (EMEA) asked applicants not to apply unless they were physically located in Europe, Africa or the Middle East, between UTC-1 and UTC+3. Lagos is UTC+1, so it was within that window. The role is closed and was a sales data job rather than a pricing one, but the wording is typical: the region and a UTC range together decide whether you qualify.
A live example with Lagos in the location list
On 27 October 2026, Yassir's Lever job board showed a full-time "Data Scientist - Pricing" role. Its listed locations included Lagos, Nairobi, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Cairo and "Remote", and the board marked it as hybrid. Yassir operates in Africa, which is why Lagos is on the list. Read the full ad to see whether the role expects office days in a particular city, and check it is still open, because eligibility and openings change.
The wider point: companies that already sell in Nigeria or Africa are your most realistic pricing employers. They need people who understand naira volatility, mobile money fees and local competitors, and that knowledge counts in your favour.
The job titles to search for
If you only search "pricing analyst", you'll miss most of the relevant ads. Search for each of these:
| Search term | Where it tends to appear |
|---|---|
| Pricing analyst / senior pricing analyst | Retail, manufacturing, logistics |
| Pricing strategy analyst | SaaS, B2B services |
| Revenue analyst / revenue management analyst | Travel, mobility, subscriptions |
| Monetisation analyst ("monetization" in US ads) | Apps, gaming, marketplaces |
| Deal desk analyst | SaaS sales teams |
| CPQ analyst (configure, price, quote) | Salesforce-heavy companies |
| Data scientist, pricing | Fintech, mobility, e-commerce |
| Commercial analyst | FMCG, telecoms, Europe-based firms |
Revenue analyst roles overlap with pricing a great deal. Our guide to remote revenue analyst jobs covers that path in more detail.
Where to find remote pricing analyst jobs
Company job boards with location filters
Many tech companies post jobs on Lever, Greenhouse, Ashby or Workable, and those boards often let you filter by location. The Yassir link above shows the trick: add ?location=Lagos%2C+Nigeria to a Lever board URL and you'll see only roles that list Lagos.
To find companies worth checking, start with:
- African fintech, mobility, logistics and e-commerce companies that sell in Nigeria
- Global companies with an Africa or EMEA commercial team
- SaaS companies whose careers pages say "remote, EMEA" for analyst roles
Then search Google with operators such as site:jobs.lever.co pricing Lagos or site:job-boards.greenhouse.io "pricing" EMEA remote. Search engines don't index these boards completely, so also bookmark the boards of companies you like and check them every week. Our planned guide on finding remote jobs on company career pages explains this method step by step.
Remote job aggregators
Aggregators such as Built In, Remote Rocketship and Jobgether collect remote pricing ads in one place, which saves time. Most of what they show is limited to one country, so use their region filters (Africa, EMEA, worldwide) and still read the location line in the original ad. Aggregator pages also go stale: two of the pages we tried to open while researching this guide had already been removed.
WorkRemote.ng
Every listing on WorkRemote.ng's remote job board shows the company, its website and where applicants may live, and listings are meant to be open to people in Nigeria. We review listings and aim to publish genuine remote roles open to applicants from Nigeria, but we can't check every detail, and the employer decides who it hires. Pricing work usually appears under finance, business or tech, so search "pricing", "revenue" and "commercial analyst" as keywords.
LinkedIn and direct outreach
Pricing teams are small, so one hiring manager often fills the role without much advertising. Look for people titled "Head of Pricing" or "Pricing Manager" at Africa-facing companies and follow their posts. When you contact them, send something specific: a two-paragraph note with a link to a pricing analysis you did on their product (see the portfolio section below). That gets more replies than "Please, any opening?"
Skills and tools employers ask for
Pricing ads are fairly consistent. In ITJobsWatch's UK data on remote and hybrid pricing analyst ads for the six months to 27 October 2026, the skills most often listed were actionable insight, decision-making and pricing strategy. SQL, Python, CPQ, SaaS and benchmarking also appeared repeatedly. The sample was small (seven ads), so treat it as a sign of what employers want, not a market survey. The UK-remote ads on Built In asked for Excel, Salesforce, SQL, Looker, Power BI and Tableau.
What that means for your preparation:
- Excel or Google Sheets at a modelling level. You should be able to build a price-volume-margin model with scenarios, lookups and a sensitivity table without looking things up.
- SQL. Pull transactions, group by customer segment, calculate average selling price and discount rates.
- A BI tool. Tableau, Power BI or Looker for the dashboards finance and sales will use.
- Basic statistics. Price elasticity, A/B test reading, confidence intervals. Data scientist (pricing) roles also want Python.
- Commercial understanding. Unit economics, gross margin, customer lifetime value, how discounts affect commission.
- Salesforce or CPQ if you're targeting SaaS deal desk work.
If you're coming from data analysis, our data analyst career guide covers the SQL and BI foundation. If you're coming from finance, the financial analyst career guide covers the modelling side.
Is a pricing certification worth it?
A certificate helps a little. A portfolio helps more. The Professional Pricing Society runs the Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) programme: you earn six course credits online or at conference workshops, study the materials, then pass an online exam. The PPS says it typically takes 1 to 12 months.
As of October 2026, the PPS page lists a complimentary CPP option for people new to pricing. It is valued at $500, valid for one year, and includes membership, six online courses, study materials, the exam and one retake. The page doesn't publish fees for the other options, so check the current terms with the PPS before relying on that offer. The CPP is well known among pricing teams, but very few ads require it. Put your time into SQL and a real pricing project first.
What remote pricing analysts earn
No reliable public source reports what pricing analysts earn when hired remotely from Nigeria. The figures below are benchmarks from other markets. They tell you how valuable the work is, not what you'll be offered.
| Source and market | Figure | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| BLS, US, May 2025 | $88,940 a year | Median, operations research analysts (closest US category) |
| ITJobsWatch, UK, 6 months to Oct 2026 | £47,500 a year | Median of salaries quoted in remote/hybrid pricing analyst ads (only 3 quoted) |
| Remote Rocketship, Europe, Oct 2026 | €60,869 a year | Average from 33 remote pricing ads with posted salaries |
| Built In, UK remote ads, Oct 2026 | £62,000 to £77,000; £85,000 to £95,000 | Ranges from two senior job ads (G-P; Scientific Games) |
For scale: the BLS median works out to about $7,400 a month, or roughly ₦10.1 million a month at ₦1,362 to $1 (CBN NFEM weighted average, 23 October 2026). A Nigeria-based contractor will usually be offered well below US or UK local pay, because many companies adjust pay to the worker's location. Companies that publish a single global band are the exception, not the norm.
What raises your offer:
- Applying to companies that publish salary bands and don't adjust them by country
- Seniority and owning outcomes (for example, "my discount policy recovered margin"), rather than only producing reports
- SaaS or fintech experience, where pricing directly drives revenue
- Strong SQL and Python, which move you towards the data scientist (pricing) end of the range
Before you discuss pay, read our guide to comparing international salary offers, and look at the remote data analyst salary guide as a nearby benchmark.
How to build pricing experience before your first pricing job
Most pricing analysts came from something else: data analysis, FP&A, sales operations, category management or consulting. If your current job touches prices at all (setting product prices for a shop, approving discounts, comparing supplier quotes), write that up in numbers. It counts.
If it doesn't, build one or two public projects that look like real pricing work.
Example (hypothetical): a pricing teardown for your portfolio
Pick a company with public pricing, such as a SaaS tool with three plans or a Nigerian payment provider with published merchant fees. Then:
- Record the current tiers and fees in a sheet, along with two or three competitors' prices on the same date.
- Define customer segments (for example, a small shop processing a modest monthly volume against a larger merchant) and calculate what each one pays with each provider.
- Model one change, such as a lower fee cap or a new mid-tier plan. Show the effect on revenue under three volume assumptions, and label every assumption.
- Write a one-page recommendation: what you'd change, the risk, and what experiment you'd run to test it.
- Publish the sheet and the write-up (Google Drive, Notion or GitHub) and link it on your CV.
This shows the four things a pricing hiring manager looks for: data handling, modelling, commercial judgement and clear writing. It also gives you something specific to discuss in interviews. Keep it honest: say it is your own analysis using public prices, not insider data.
Adjacent roles that lead into pricing
If pricing ads aren't open to you yet, roles one step away often are, and many companies move people internally:
- Data analyst on a commercial or finance team
- Business analyst supporting sales or product
- Revenue operations or sales operations
- FP&A analyst
A weekly search routine that works from Nigeria
Example (hypothetical): one week of focused searching
- Monday: Run your saved searches for all the titles in the table above on WorkRemote.ng, one aggregator with an EMEA or Africa filter, and LinkedIn. Spend 45 minutes.
- Tuesday: Check the Lever or Greenhouse boards of 10 Africa-facing companies with the Lagos location filter. Add any new pricing, revenue or commercial analyst roles to a tracker.
- Wednesday: For each role, read the location line and the UTC range. Delete any that are limited to one country. Shortlist two or three.
- Thursday: Tailor your CV for each shortlisted role. Put the pricing project and the tools named in the ad near the top.
- Friday: Send applications plus one direct note to a pricing manager, with a link to your teardown.
Ten good applications to roles you're eligible for will get better results than a hundred to UK-only ads.
Practical points once you're hired
Time zones
Most pricing roles open to Nigeria report to teams in Europe or Africa, which suits WAT (UTC+1). London is on GMT until late March, so Lagos is one hour ahead in winter, and the two are on the same time in summer. Central European teams are on the same time as Lagos in winter. US-based pricing teams are 5 to 6 hours behind on the East Coast, which means late meetings, especially around month-end and price changes.
Contract type and getting paid
You'll usually be hired as an independent contractor or through an employer of record (EOR), not on a local Nigerian contract. Each has different implications for benefits, notice and tax: see contractor or EOR employee when a foreign company hires you. For receiving dollars or euros and what each app charges, read how to receive dollar payments in Nigeria.
Power, internet and data security
Pricing work involves confidential margin and contract data, and price changes often go live on fixed dates. A power cut during a pricing release is a serious problem. Have an inverter or solar backup, two internet connections (a MiFi plus a phone hotspot at minimum), and follow the company's rules on VPNs and devices.
Scams to watch for
Real pricing roles never ask you to pay for training, software or a "pricing certification" before you're hired, and they never offer a salary far above what a role like this normally pays to someone with no experience. If an offer arrives on Telegram after a five-minute chat, walk away. Our guide to spotting remote job scams in Nigeria lists the common patterns.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a remote pricing analyst job from Nigeria with no experience?
It's possible, but it isn't common. Most remote pricing ads ask for two or more years of analytics, finance or commercial experience. A more realistic route is a data analyst or FP&A role on a commercial team, plus a public pricing project, and then moving into pricing internally or for your next job.
Which industries hire pricing analysts remotely?
SaaS, fintech and payments, mobility and delivery, e-commerce and medtech post the most remote pricing roles. For someone in Nigeria, companies that already operate in Africa are the most likely to list Lagos or "Africa" as an eligible location.
Do I need a degree to become a pricing analyst?
Most ads ask for a degree in a quantitative or business field, and the BLS says a bachelor's degree is the usual entry level for operations research analysts. Strong SQL, Excel modelling and a convincing portfolio can make up for an unrelated degree with some employers, especially startups.
Is the Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) worth getting?
It's useful but rarely required. The PPS CPP shows commitment and structured knowledge, and as of October 2026 the PPS lists a complimentary option for people new to pricing. Employers will still judge you mainly on your SQL, your modelling and how you explain a pricing decision.
How much do remote pricing analysts earn?
In the UK and Europe, remote pricing ads in 2026 averaged roughly €61,000 a year (Remote Rocketship) or had a median of £47,500 a year (ITJobsWatch, small sample). The closest US benchmark is $88,940 a year (BLS, May 2025). Offers to Nigeria-based contractors are usually lower, and only companies with global pay bands come close to these figures.
What's the difference between a pricing analyst and a revenue analyst?
A pricing analyst focuses on setting and testing prices, discounts and fees. A revenue analyst looks at overall revenue performance, forecasting and reporting. The two overlap a lot, so search for both titles.
What should my CV show for a pricing role?
Show a pricing decision you influenced and its result in numbers, the tools you used (SQL, Excel, Tableau or Power BI, Salesforce) and a link to a pricing project. Leave out generic analysis duties that don't mention prices, margin or discounts.
Key takeaways
- Remote pricing roles are often advertised as pricing strategy analyst, revenue analyst, deal desk analyst or data scientist (pricing), so search all of these titles.
- Most remote pricing ads seen in October 2026 were limited to one country. Apply where Nigeria, Africa, EMEA or worldwide is clearly accepted.
- Africa-facing companies (fintech, mobility, e-commerce) are the most realistic employers. Use location filters on their Lever or Greenhouse boards.
- Employers want Excel modelling, SQL, a BI tool and commercial judgement. A public pricing teardown proves all four.
- US, UK and European pay figures are benchmarks only. Nigeria-based offers are usually lower unless the company uses global pay bands.
