How to Find Remote Pinterest Marketing Jobs

Where remote Pinterest marketing jobs are posted, which ones accept Nigerian applicants, the skills clients expect, and how to build proof and get paid.

Most remote Pinterest marketing jobs are not advertised as "Pinterest jobs" at all. They sit inside social media manager, e-commerce marketing, VA and pin-designer roles, and inside freelance contracts posted by bloggers, Shopify and Etsy sellers and small agencies. Search only for the word "Pinterest" and you will miss most of them. You will also run into ads you can't apply for from Nigeria.

That second problem matters a lot. In the Pinterest-focused ads we opened while researching this guide, the stated eligibility included "US only", "Philippines only" and "Canada, Europe and UK". Some roles do accept Nigeria or "anywhere in the world", but you have to read each ad to find them.

This guide covers the job titles that hide Pinterest work, the search strings that bring them up, how to check eligibility, what employers expect you to know, how to build proof without a client, and the Nigerian details: running ads, time zones and getting paid.

Quick answer

To find remote Pinterest marketing jobs from Nigeria, search for broader titles too: social media manager, e-commerce marketing, Pinterest VA, pin designer and paid social specialist. Then check each ad's location line before you apply. Freelance clients such as bloggers, online shops and agencies make up much of this work. Learn organic Pinterest strategy and Pinterest Ads (Pinterest Academy is free), build a sample account, and pitch businesses in Pinterest-heavy niches.

What a Pinterest marketing job involves

A Pinterest marketer helps a business get traffic and sales from Pinterest. Pinterest behaves more like a visual search engine than a social feed, so the daily work is closer to SEO plus design than to posting and replying to comments.

The duties in real ads are very consistent. A closed contract on The Mom Project for a health and fitness brand asked the Pinterest manager to plan a strategy, create and schedule pins, research keywords for pin descriptions, watch analytics and report on results (The Mom Project listing). An expired full-time ad from CGK Linens, a US bedding brand, added running Pinterest Ads campaigns and tracking impressions, clicks, CTR (click-through rate), saves and conversions (Working Nomads listing for CGK Linens).

The work splits into two skill sets:

  • Organic Pinterest: keyword research, board structure, pin design (usually in Canva), writing titles and descriptions, scheduling, and linking pins to blog posts or product pages.
  • Paid Pinterest (Pinterest Ads): campaign setup, audience targeting, shopping ads from a product catalogue, budget management, and reporting on cost per click or return on ad spend.

Organic work is the usual way in. Paid work pays more and asks for more proof, because you are spending the client's money.

Job titles that hide Pinterest work

This is the biggest change you can make to your search. If you only type "Pinterest manager", you'll see a small slice of what's out there.

Job title to searchWhere Pinterest fitsTypical level
Pinterest manager or specialistPinterest is the whole jobEntry to mid
Pinterest VAPin scheduling and design inside admin workEntry

Social media managerOne platform among severalMid

Paid social or performance marketerPinterest Ads beside Meta and TikTokMid to senior

When a title is broad, read the duties for the word Pinterest. A Social Media Manager ad from Intelligent Change listed Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and LinkedIn, and asked for "proficiency with Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest" (Dynamite Jobs listing, Intelligent Change). Pinterest skill is part of what wins jobs like that, even though it isn't in the title.

Where to look for remote Pinterest marketing jobs

Remote job boards with location filters

Remote job boards are useful when they let you filter by country. Remote Rocketship has a page of remote social media roles filtered for Nigeria. When we opened it in October 2026, it showed listings marked "Nigeria – Remote", listings for a group of countries that included Nigeria, and listings marked "Anywhere in the World" (Remote Rocketship, social media jobs for Nigeria). Only one listing on that page mentioned Pinterest: a Trafilea social media role for its Shapermint brand, covering "Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and more". It was dated 25 May, so check whether it is still open.

Aggregator pages copy ads from employers and can fall out of date. Use them to find leads, then open the employer's own ad to confirm the role is still live and who can apply.

On WorkRemote, the content and social media job listings show each company, its website and where applicants may live. Search "Pinterest" there, then try "social media" and "e-commerce".

Freelance marketplaces

Much Pinterest work is short contracts from small businesses: a food blogger who wants 60 pins a month, or a Shopify store that wants its catalogue on Pinterest. Upwork, Fiverr and Contra all carry this kind of work. Contracts on marketplaces often have their own location settings too, and some clients restrict who can apply. Read the client's requirements before you spend credits on a proposal.

LinkedIn and company career pages

On LinkedIn Jobs, search Pinterest with the "Remote" filter. Then run a second search for "social media manager" Pinterest. Company career pages often hold roles that never reach the job boards.

You can also search applicant tracking systems directly on Google:

  • site:jobs.lever.co "Pinterest" remote
  • site:job-boards.greenhouse.io "Pinterest" "social media"
  • site:jobs.ashbyhq.com Pinterest marketing remote

Results with "worldwide", "EMEA" or "anywhere" in the location line are the ones to open first. Our guide on finding remote jobs on company career pages covers this method in detail.

Pinterest itself, as an employer

Pinterest the company hires marketers, but its remote roles are tied to where you live. Its careers site says employees in roles without a regular office requirement "may live anywhere within their country or region of employment", and its location filters (as of October 2026) list cities such as London, Dublin, Amsterdam and Paris, with no African location (Pinterest Careers, remote work). For a Nigeria-based applicant, a job at Pinterest itself is unlikely. Jobs managing Pinterest for other businesses are the realistic target.

How to check if a Pinterest job accepts applicants in Nigeria

Pinterest-specialist ads are often limited to one country. Here is what the ads we opened showed:

Ad (status when checked, Oct 2026)Who could applyStated pay
CGK Linens, Pinterest Channel Manager (expired)Canada, Europe, UK$50k a year
The Mom Project, Pinterest Manager (closed)US residents with US work authorisation$20 to $25 an hour
Intelligent Change, Social Media Manager (closed)Worldwide, Toronto preferred$12k to $98.9k a year

Two of these three Pinterest-related ads excluded Nigeria. Before you write a cover letter, check four things:

  1. The location line. "Remote (US)" or "Remote, Philippines" means you can't apply. "Worldwide", "Anywhere", "EMEA" or a country list that includes Nigeria means you can.
  2. The legal wording. Phrases such as "must be legally authorised to work in the US" rule you out even when the location just says "Remote".
  3. Silent ads. Some ads say "100% Remote" and name no countries. Trafilea's Social Media Growth Manager ad on its own careers site did exactly that, with pay stated only as "USD competitive salary" (Trafilea careers, Social Media Growth Manager). Treat silence as "unclear", not as "yes". Look for a location question in the application form, or ask the recruiter.
  4. Working hours. CGK Linens asked for 9am to 5pm Eastern Time. That is 2pm to 10pm in Lagos in US summer and 3pm to 11pm in winter (US clocks go back on 1 November 2026). Some people manage that schedule; others can't.

Our guide on verifying whether a remote job accepts Nigerian residents walks through more examples. For what "worldwide" usually means in practice, see what worldwide remote means when applying from Nigeria.

What employers expect you to know

The expired CGK Linens ad gives a clear picture of a mid-level Pinterest role. It asked for 3 to 5 years managing Pinterest for e-commerce brands, proven growth in visibility and conversions, experience with both organic and paid Pinterest, visual design skills and strong written English. Shopify or Amazon experience was a plus (Working Nomads listing for CGK Linens).

Entry-level contracts ask for less. The Mom Project contract accepted 0 to 4 years of experience and listed Canva, Adobe Photoshop and Pinterest analytics as the tools (The Mom Project listing).

The core skills to have before applying:

  • Pinterest keyword research: use Pinterest's own search suggestions and Pinterest Trends to find the phrases people search, then put them in board names, pin titles and descriptions.
  • Pin design: vertical images with clear text overlays, made in Canva. Fast, consistent output counts for more than artistic flair.
  • Scheduling: Pinterest's built-in scheduler, plus a tool such as Tailwind if the client uses one.
  • Analytics: reading impressions, saves, outbound clicks and CTR, and writing a monthly report a busy owner can understand.
  • Pinterest Ads basics: campaign objectives, targeting by keyword and interest, and catalogue or shopping campaigns for online shops.
  • Website basics: knowing how to claim a website, add the Pinterest tag, and connect a Shopify or WordPress site.

Pinterest Academy: the free way to learn the paid side

Pinterest Academy is free for anyone with a Pinterest account (a business account is recommended). As of October 2026, it offers short e-learning courses of about 10 to 20 minutes each, live webinars, skills badges and the Pinterest Media Buyer Certification. The certification requires passing an exam and earns a "Pinterest Certified Media Buyer" badge. The Performance Essentials badge takes 10 courses and a quiz, about three hours in total.

A badge won't get you hired by itself. It does show a client that you've learned the ads platform from the source, and it's a sensible first step before you touch someone's ad budget. For how this compares with other credentials, see digital marketing certifications for remote jobs.

Can you run Pinterest Ads from Nigeria?

You can manage a client's ads, but setting up your own ad account works differently. Pinterest's help centre (checked October 2026) lists Nigeria as a market served through advertising partners, not one where businesses open ad accounts directly with Pinterest. Ghana, the US, the UK and Canada are on the direct list (Pinterest Help Centre, ads overview). For Nigerian advertisers, the page gives a partner contact at Aleph.

In practice, this matters less than it sounds, for two reasons:

  • Most of your clients will be businesses in the US, UK, Canada or Australia. Their ad accounts sit in their own markets. They give your Pinterest business profile access, and you work inside their account.
  • The same help page says accounts given Business Access by another business are also limited to the listed countries. A client in a direct market isn't affected. The limit only matters if you try to run ads through an account registered to an unlisted country.

For practice, use organic pins on your own account, the Academy courses and a small budget on a client's account once they trust you. Don't promise a client paid results you've never produced.

How to build proof when no one has hired you yet

Pinterest is one of the easier platforms to build proof on, because a new account can start getting impressions within weeks if the keywords are right. A 90-day plan:

  1. Pick a niche Pinterest users love. Food, home decor, fashion, weddings, DIY, travel and printables all do well. Choose one where you can find plenty of content to pin.
  2. Set up a business account and claim a website. A free blog, or even a simple portfolio page, gives your pins somewhere to send clicks.
  3. Build 8 to 10 keyword-based boards. Name them after real searches, not clever phrases.
  4. Publish fresh pins steadily. Design them in Canva, link them to real pages, and write keyword-rich descriptions.
  5. Screenshot your analytics on day 1, day 30 and day 90. Impressions, saves and outbound clicks over time are your case study.
  6. Offer one real business a free or cheap trial month. A Nigerian online store, a church bakery with a website, or a friend's blog all count. Ask for a short written reference at the end.
  7. Write a one-page case study. Cover the starting point, what you did, the numbers and what you'd do next.

Example (hypothetical): Amaka, a Canva user in Enugu, builds a home decor account aimed at US renters. After 90 days she has screenshots showing her impressions growing month on month and her top five pins by outbound clicks. She uses those screenshots in pitches to US interior design bloggers. Her numbers are her own and modest, but they're real, and that beats a portfolio of pins nobody saw.

How to pitch freelance Pinterest clients directly

Many small businesses that need Pinterest help never post a job. They are easy to spot: a blogger with a "Pin it" button and a stale Pinterest account, or a Shopify store whose last pin is from 2024.

A direct pitch works best when it is short and specific:

  • Mention one thing on their Pinterest profile that could be better (boards with no keywords, or pins without links).
  • Attach two sample pins you designed for their products or posts.
  • Offer a clear starter package, such as a set number of pins a month plus a monthly report.
  • Point to your case study.

Example (hypothetical message): "Hi Jess, I noticed your sourdough recipes get great comments on the blog, but your Pinterest boards are named 'Yum' and 'Bakes', which nobody searches for. I made two sample pins for your focaccia post (attached). I manage Pinterest for food bloggers: keyword-based boards, 40 new pins a month and a short monthly report. Here's a 90-day case study from my own account. Would a trial month be useful?"

Agencies are worth pitching too. Small social media and Pinterest agencies often subcontract pin design and scheduling to freelancers.

Pay: what Pinterest marketing work is worth

The ads we opened give some real numbers, but none of them was open to Nigeria, so treat them as benchmarks, not offers you can expect:

  • The Mom Project contract paid $20 to $25 an hour for about 5 hours a week, US applicants only. At $20 an hour that is roughly $430 a month, about ₦590,000 at ₦1,362 to $1 (CBN rate, 23 October 2026).
  • The CGK Linens full-time role stated $50k a year for Canada, Europe or the UK. That is about $4,170 a month, roughly ₦5.7 million.
  • The Intelligent Change worldwide social media role gave a very wide band, $12k to $98.9k a year, which shows that pay depends heavily on location and experience.

Nigeria-based contractors are usually offered less than US-based workers in the same role. Pay rises with paid-ads skill, e-commerce results you can prove, and taking on the wider social media role rather than pin design alone. For figures across the broader role, see our social media manager salary guide. For dollar-paying social roles in general, see remote social media jobs that pay in dollars.

Nigeria-specific practicalities

Time zones

Most Pinterest clients are in the US, where Pinterest's audience and many of its advertisers are based. Organic Pinterest work is mostly asynchronous: you can design and schedule pins at any hour, and the platform publishes them on time. Calls are what clash. A 10am New York call is 3pm in Lagos in US summer and 4pm from 1 November. UK clients are an hour behind Lagos in winter and on the same time in summer.

Power and internet

Uploading batches of pin images and video pins uses data. Keep an inverter or solar backup and a second connection, such as a MiFi alongside your phone hotspot. Missing a scheduled batch because of an outage looks bad when the client can see the gap on their profile.

Contracts and getting paid

Most Pinterest work from Nigeria is contractor or freelance work, not employment. Read our guide to being a contractor versus an employee before you sign anything. For moving the money home, our guide to receiving dollar payments in Nigeria compares Payoneer, Wise, Grey, Raenest and other options.

Mistakes and scams to avoid

  • Applying to ads you aren't eligible for. It wastes your time and marketplace credits. Read the location line first.
  • Selling "go viral" results. Pinterest grows slowly and compounds over time. Promise effort and reporting, not traffic numbers.
  • Treating Pinterest like Instagram. Hashtag-heavy captions and lifestyle selfies don't rank. Keywords and clickable pins do.
  • Giving up the client's password. Ask for Business Access to their Pinterest account instead of their login details. It's safer for both of you.
  • "Pin and earn" schemes. Telegram and WhatsApp offers that pay you to like or save pins, or that charge a "training fee" or "activation fee" before work starts, are not jobs. Our guide to remote job scams in Nigeria lists the warning signs.

Frequently asked questions

Can Nigerians get remote Pinterest marketing jobs?

Yes, when the employer or client accepts applicants based in Nigeria. Many Pinterest-specialist ads are limited to the US, the Philippines or Canada, Europe and the UK, so check the location line on every ad. Freelance clients and "worldwide" social media roles are the most realistic routes.

Is Pinterest Academy free?

Yes. Pinterest Academy is free for anyone with a Pinterest account, and Pinterest recommends a business account. As of October 2026, it offers short courses, webinars, skills badges and the Pinterest Media Buyer Certification exam.

Do I need experience to become a Pinterest manager?

Not always. Entry-level contracts have accepted 0 to 4 years of experience, while mid-level full-time roles have asked for 3 to 5 years and proven e-commerce results. A 90-day case study from your own account and one real client reference will help you more than a certificate alone.

Can I run Pinterest Ads for a client while living in Nigeria?

Usually yes, by working inside the client's ad account through Business Access. Pinterest lists Nigeria as a partner-served ads market rather than a direct one (as of October 2026). That mainly affects ad accounts registered in Nigeria, not a US or UK client's account.

What tools does a Pinterest marketer use?

Canva for pin design, Pinterest's own scheduler and analytics, and Pinterest Trends for keyword ideas. Some clients also use Tailwind for scheduling and Shopify or WordPress for the website the pins link to. Photoshop shows up in some ads but is rarely required.

Is Pinterest marketing a full-time job?

Sometimes, but full-time roles focused only on Pinterest are uncommon. More often, Pinterest is one part of a social media or e-commerce marketing role, or one of several freelance clients you manage at once. Many people build a full-time income from three or four Pinterest clients.

Which niches hire Pinterest managers most?

The businesses that hire Pinterest help are usually in visual, planning-heavy niches: food, home decor, fashion, weddings, DIY, travel and printables. E-commerce brands that sell physical products also hire for shopping ads. Focusing on one niche makes your pitches and samples much stronger.

Key takeaways

  • Most Pinterest work sits inside broader titles, so search social media manager, e-commerce marketing, Pinterest VA and pin designer as well as "Pinterest manager".
  • Many Pinterest-specialist ads exclude Nigeria. Read the location and work-authorisation lines before applying, and treat "remote" with no country as unclear.
  • Pinterest itself hires remote staff only within their country or region of employment, so jobs managing Pinterest for other businesses are the realistic target.
  • Pinterest Academy is free and teaches the ads side. A 90-day organic case study is your strongest proof.
  • Nigeria is a partner-served Pinterest ads market, but you can still manage clients' accounts in their own markets through Business Access.
