Remote operations manager salary for Nigerians
A remote operations manager based in Nigeria earns about $41,000 a year at the median, according to Plane's remote pay data for the role. Junior and small-business roles start much lower, around $15,000 to $20,000, and senior posts advertised worldwide in October 2026 reached $100,000 to $110,000.
That spread reflects how different ops jobs are. Running office operations for a small US contractor and leading CX operations for a consumer brand share a title and little else.

What affects your pay
What 'operations' means. CX operations, supply chain and business operations at funded companies pay the most. Office and dispatch operations for small businesses pay the least.
Team and budget size. Managing people and money moves you up fast. Individual-contributor ops roles sit nearer Plane's median or below.
Specialist experience. Grüns' 2026 ad required direct BPO experience; field-service ads wanted Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. Matching a niche lets you ask for more.
Bonuses. Some small-business ops roles add meaningful bonuses. Offshore Launch's 2026 ads listed an annual bonus of one month's pay plus quarterly performance bonuses of up to 1.5 times monthly salary.
The BLS median for US general and operations managers is $105,770. Only the most senior remote roles open to Nigeria come close.
Negotiating your offer
Negotiate on scope. Before talking money, ask how many people you'd manage, which numbers you'd own and what budget you'd control. Those answers tell you which band you belong in.
If the base is fixed, ask about the bonus structure in writing: what's measured, how often, and what a typical payout has been.
Bring a 30-60-90 day plan to the final round. Showing exactly which process you'd fix first, and what it would save, gives you a business case for the top of the range.
Questions people ask
Why do remote ops manager salaries vary so much?
The title covers very different jobs. A $1,600-a-month office operations role for a small US contractor and a $100,000 CX operations lead role are both called operations manager.
Do remote ops roles include bonuses?
Some do. Small-business and BPO-linked roles often tie bonuses to KPIs such as answer rate or bookings. Ask how the bonus is calculated and how often it's paid.
How does remote pay compare with local ops jobs in Nigeria?
Payscale's self-reported average for operations managers in Nigeria is about ₦1.4 million a year in base pay. Remote roles paying $20,000 or more are a large step up, before your own power and internet costs.
Can I get US-level pay as a remote ops manager?
Rarely, and only at senior level. Grüns' 2026 CX operations ad at $100,000 to $110,000 is close to the US median, but it asked for five years in CX and management experience.

Salaries for related roles
- Project Manager
A project manager is accountable for delivering a defined piece of work on time, within budget and to the agreed scope, leading the people, plans, risks and stakeholders involved. Experienced Nigerian project managers do get remote roles with global tech companies, localisation firms and international non-profits, typically after several years of delivery experience at home.
- People Operations Specialist
A people operations specialist runs the systems and processes behind employees at a company: onboarding flows, the HR system, contracts, contractor and EOR admin, benefits, people data and the employee handbook. It suits remote work from Nigeria well, because global startups need someone who can keep people processes running across many countries, and much of it is tools and documentation rather than local employment law.
- Support Team Lead
A support team lead runs a small team of customer support agents: building the schedule, reviewing ticket and call quality, coaching people and handling the worst escalations. You can do it remotely from Nigeria, but most leads are promoted from inside a support team, so external remote hires usually want two or more years of supervising agents already.
- Business Analyst
A business analyst works out what a business actually needs from a system or process change and writes it up as clear requirements that developers can build and test. It's a common remote role for Nigerians, especially those with banking, fintech or telecoms experience, though fully remote junior roles are scarce.
