Where these figures come from

Entry
Plane's 10th percentile to median for remote business analysts in Nigeria ($10,793 to $34,324). We found no junior BA ad open to Nigeria that published pay.
Mid
Plane's median to 90th percentile for remote business analysts in Nigeria ($34,324 to $52,818). Plane doesn't publish its method. Above this, Serefin's Finance Business Analyst ad for 3 to 5 years' experience offered CA$70,000 and was listed on Himalayas as open to all countries.

How that compares

Reference points from other markets. Remote pay for people in Nigeria is usually below US and UK local pay.

  • US median, computer systems analysts (BLS, May 2025) (bls.gov)$105,850 a year
  • Remote business analyst in Nigeria, median (Plane estimate) (plane.com)$34,324 a year
  • Nigeria local, business analyst, lower 10% cut-off (Paylab, gross) (paylab.com)₦191,964 a month
  • Nigeria local, business analyst, upper 10% cut-off (Paylab, gross) (paylab.com)₦596,818 a month

What affects your pay

Domain. BAs with payments, banking or insurance experience are paid more than generalists, because the regulation and systems take years to learn.

Data skills. SQL, Power BI and analysis push BAs towards the top of the range and open data-heavy roles.

Employer type. Consultancies and outsourcing firms that place Nigerian BAs on foreign projects often pay less than hiring a company directly. North American firms advertising $98,000 to $138,000 for analyst roles listed as open to all countries exist, but some say pay depends on location.

UK comparison. Prospects puts UK junior BAs at £24,000 to £33,000 and experienced BAs at £35,000 to £65,000, so UK-facing remote roles have room above the Nigerian estimates.

Negotiating your offer

Ask whether the posted range applies to your location before you name a number. If it's location-adjusted, ask what band covers Nigeria.

Put your domain experience on the table: "I've delivered NIBSS instant payment and card integrations for a tier-one bank" is the kind of line that moves an offer.

If you're contracting through a consultancy, ask what the client is paying for your time. You won't always get an answer, but it helps you judge whether to push.
