Remote logistics coordinator jobs exist and some are open to people in Nigeria, but you have to search under the right job titles and read each ad's location rules closely. Most remote logistics coordination is shipment tracking, carrier follow-up and documentation done for US, UK or European companies. Many of those ads are limited to one country, even when an aggregator tags them as "Africa".

In this guide we cover what the work involves, which titles to search, where the ads are posted, and how to tell whether a vacancy really accepts Nigerian residents. We also look at what pay looks like next to US benchmarks, which credentials help, and how to present Nigerian logistics experience so a foreign hiring manager understands it. Everything about live ads reflects what we found as of October 2026. Ads change weekly, so always check the original posting before you apply.

Quick answer

To find remote logistics coordinator jobs from Nigeria, search several titles (logistics, freight, shipment, dispatch, supply chain coordinator) on remote boards and employer career pages. Then keep only the ads that name Nigeria, Africa-wide, EMEA or worldwide eligibility in the fine print. Expect to need one to three years of freight, haulage or operations experience, strong written English, and availability during US or UK business hours.

What a remote logistics coordinator actually does

A logistics coordinator keeps goods moving between suppliers, carriers, warehouses and customers. In a remote role the trucks and containers are physically far away, so the job is almost entirely communication and record-keeping.

A live October 2026 ad for a Logistics & Routing Coordinator from the staffing agency Assist World, whose client is a US coffee roasting and manufacturing business, listed these duties:

  • coordinating and monitoring freight shipments
  • communicating with carriers and following up on delivery schedules
  • troubleshooting delays and fixing appointment and routing issues
  • keeping operations and customer support teams informed
  • maintaining logistics records and escalating serious problems

An EMEA Logistics Coordinator ad from the IT company Sycomp, reposted on a job aggregator in March 2026, asked for more. It wanted someone to manage imports across the Middle East and Africa, check shipping and customs documents, work with customs brokers, support pricing for tenders (requests for proposals, or RFPs) and record everything in Salesforce.

Those two ads show the range. At the junior end, the job is mainly track-and-trace and customer updates. At the senior end, it involves import procedures, customs paperwork and costing.

Job titles to search (this matters more than the board)

The same work appears under many titles. In our October 2026 checks, the Assist World ad was labelled "Logistics & Routing Coordinator" on one board and "Supply Chain Coordinator" on another. If you only search "logistics coordinator", you miss half the market.

Search each of these separately:

  • logistics coordinator
  • freight coordinator, or freight operations coordinator
  • shipment coordinator, or track and trace coordinator
  • transportation coordinator
  • dispatch coordinator, or logistics dispatcher
  • supply chain coordinator
  • import/export coordinator, or customs coordinator
  • logistics specialist, or logistics operations associate

Pair each title with "remote" and, where the board allows it, a location filter for Africa, EMEA or worldwide. Freight forwarders, e-commerce brands, manufacturers, IT hardware resellers and virtual assistant agencies all hire for these roles. Staffing agencies are often the most realistic entry point for people outside the US and UK.

Where remote logistics coordinator jobs are advertised

Remote job aggregators

Aggregators collect remote ads from many sources and tag them by region. When we opened Jobgether's remote logistics coordinator page in October 2026, it showed 17 roles. Most were tagged "Remote from United States", "Asia" or "Philippines". Two were tagged "Remote from Africa" (Remote Recruitment and Assist World), one freelance SAP logistics consultant role was tagged "Anywhere", and none named Nigeria.

That snapshot is typical. Remote logistics hiring outside the US leans heavily towards the Philippines, South Africa and other Asian markets, where staffing agencies have hired for years. Nigeria-specific ads are rarer, so you need to check every "Africa" tag yourself.

Africa-focused remote boards

Boards that specialise in African talent sometimes carry freight roles. Remote4Africa, for example, carried a freelance Freight and Logistics Coordinator role for a US freight forwarder, open "anywhere in the world". By the time we checked in October 2026, the page showed "Applications for this job are closed". Roles like this fill quickly, which is why daily alerts beat weekly browsing.

Employer career pages and LinkedIn

Global freight forwarders, 3PLs (third-party logistics companies), and manufacturers with EMEA operations post coordinator roles on their own careers pages and on LinkedIn. Many of these jobs are hybrid or tied to an office in Europe, so filter carefully. Our guide on finding remote jobs on company career pages explains how to search employer applicant tracking systems directly.

WorkRemote.ng

On WorkRemote's remote job listings, you can search "logistics", "freight" or "operations" and filter by experience level and date posted. Each listing shows the company, its website and where applicants may live. We review listings and aim to publish genuine remote roles open to applicants from Nigeria, but we can't check every detail, and employers decide who they hire.

How to tell if a remote logistics job accepts Nigerian applicants

Can Nigerians apply for remote logistics coordinator jobs? Yes, when the ad or the employer's careers page lists Nigeria, Africa as a whole, EMEA or worldwide as eligible locations, and the role doesn't need work authorisation in another country. Check the original ad, not the aggregator summary.

"Remote from Africa" often means one African country

This is the most common trap we found. Jobgether tagged Assist World's role as "Remote from Africa". When we opened the full Assist World ad on 16 October 2026, it said the role was open only to applicants based in South Africa or the Philippines. Remote Recruitment's logistics coordinator ads, which appeared in our searches as South Africa-based roles working UK hours, follow the same pattern.

A Nigerian applying to either would almost certainly be filtered out automatically. Before you spend 30 minutes tailoring a CV, open the ad's own page and look for:

  1. A country list or "candidates must be based in" line.
  2. A pay table split by country, which often reveals which countries are eligible.
  3. Phrases such as "authorised to work in the US" or "right to work in the UK". These rule out Nigeria-based applicants unless you already hold that right.
  4. Time-zone requirements such as "must work EST hours" or "overlap with CET".

For a fuller checklist, see how to verify whether a remote job accepts Nigerian residents.

EMEA ads are a better bet than Africa ads

EMEA means Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Nigeria sits within it. The Sycomp EMEA ad above listed knowledge of import markets such as Saudi Arabia, Nigeria or Morocco as a plus, which makes Nigerian customs and port experience a selling point rather than a gap. Some EMEA ads still limit hiring to countries where the company has a legal entity, so read the fine print. Our explainer on what EMEA means in a remote job description covers this in detail.

What employers ask for

Across the ads we opened, the requirements were consistent.

RequirementWhat it looked like in ads
ExperiencePrior freight, dispatch or ops work; 3+ years for EMEA roles
English"Excellent written and spoken English"
ToolsEmail, Microsoft Teams, Office; Salesforce preferred in one ad
KnowledgeImport/export procedures, carriers, customs brokers
Work styleWorks independently, follows up, escalates issues early

Logistics coordination is rarely a true no-experience remote job. The Assist World ad asked for prior experience in logistics, freight, transportation, dispatch or operations coordination. If you have none, start with a Nigerian logistics, haulage, courier or e-commerce operations job (even on-site) and move to remote work after a year or two. Our guide to remote jobs for Nigerians with no experience covers easier first steps, such as customer support.

Nigerian experience that transfers well

Hiring managers abroad may not know Nigerian companies, but they understand the work. Experience at a freight forwarder clearing goods through Apapa or Tin Can, a haulage firm managing trucks on the Lagos–Kano corridor, a last-mile delivery startup, or an FMCG distributor's depot all count. So does dispatch at a ride-hailing or courier company.

Example (hypothetical): instead of "Handled logistics for clients", write "Tracked 40 to 60 inbound container shipments a month for importers, chased shipping lines and clearing agents on delays, and kept customers updated by email, reducing missed delivery appointments." Give numbers you can defend in an interview, and explain the context in one line, because a US recruiter will not know what Apapa congestion means for timelines.

How much remote logistics coordinators earn

Pay varies widely, and the advertised figure depends on where the employer expects you to live.

As a US benchmark, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the median pay for logisticians at $82,320 a year as of May 2025, about $6,860 a month. That figure covers US-based workers in a broader occupation that includes analysts and planners. It is not what a Nigeria-based coordinator will be offered.

Rates for workers outside the US are much lower. The October 2026 Assist World ad for South Africa and the Philippines listed $9,600 to $12,000 a year. That works out to $800 to $1,000 a month, or roughly ₦1,090,000 to ₦1,362,000 a month at the CBN NFEM rate of ₦1,362 to $1 (23 October 2026).

Same, in naira₦1.09m to ₦1.36m a monthAt ₦1,362/$1, 23 Oct 2026

We did not find a live ad in October 2026 that published a salary specifically for Nigeria-based logistics coordinators, so treat agency rates for South Africa and the Philippines as the nearest published reference point. Senior EMEA roles involving customs and costing usually pay more than agency track-and-trace roles. If a stranger offers several thousand dollars a month for "simple shipment monitoring" with no interview, treat it as a warning sign.

Many of these roles are contractor arrangements rather than employment. Read contractor or employee when a foreign company hires you before you accept an offer, and see how to receive dollar payments in Nigeria for withdrawal options and fees.

Credentials that help (and what they cost)

No certificate is required for most coordinator roles. Experience matters more. Credentials help when you are moving from a non-logistics background or aiming for EMEA and import/export work.

  • CILT qualifications. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport offers an International Certificate (Level 3, aimed at supervisors and first-line managers), an International Diploma (Level 5) and an Advanced Diploma (Level 6) through accredited providers. CILT's course finder lists Lagos providers, such as Smartpro in Ikoyi, offering blended and part-time study. The Certificate usually takes about a year. Ask providers directly for current fees.
  • ASCM CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution). This is a globally recognised credential from the Association for Supply Chain Management. Coursera's June 2026 overview says it has no prerequisites and lists the exam at $1,100 for members with a certification upgrade and $1,530 for non-members. At ₦1,362 to $1, that is about ₦1.5m to ₦2.1m before study materials. It is worth it mainly once you already have a logistics role and want to move up.
  • Incoterms and customs basics. Knowing the ICC Incoterms rules (such as FOB, CIF and DAP) and how bills of lading and commercial invoices work comes up in import/export interviews. You can learn the basics free from reputable freight forwarder explainers before paying for anything.

Working US or UK hours from Nigeria

Most remote logistics work happens live, during the business hours of the carriers and customers you deal with. Lagos is on WAT (UTC+1) all year, so your hours shift when the US and UK change their clocks.

Employer hoursLagos time, winterLagos time, summer
UK 9am to 5pm10am to 6pm9am to 5pm
US Eastern 8am to 5pm2pm to 11pm1pm to 10pm
US Pacific 8am to 5pm5pm to 2am4pm to 1am

From 1 November 2026, US Eastern moves to EST, six hours behind Lagos. A US East Coast freight role then runs into late evening. Think honestly about whether you can take carrier calls at 10pm for months at a time.

Live carrier calls also mean power and internet failures cost more here than in many other remote jobs. An inverter or solar backup, plus two internet routes (for example a fixed provider and a MiFi or phone hotspot from a different network), is the practical minimum. Have a headset with a decent microphone, because shipment problems are often solved on calls.

A step-by-step plan to land a remote logistics coordinator role

  1. List your logistics evidence. Write down shipments handled, carriers or clearing agents managed, systems used (Excel, an ERP, a fleet tracker) and problems you fixed, with numbers where you have them.
  2. Rewrite your CV for remote readers. Lead with coordination outcomes, explain Nigerian context in plain terms, and name the tools. Our operations manager career guide and project coordinator guide show how adjacent roles are described to foreign employers.
  3. Set up searches for every title. Use the title list above on two or three remote boards plus LinkedIn, and save each one as an alert.
  4. Filter by real eligibility. Open every ad's source page and discard any that are restricted to a single country (unless it's Nigeria) or that require work authorisation you don't have.
  5. Apply quickly and specifically. Freight roles close fast. In two or three sentences, mention a shipment problem you solved and the hours you can cover.
  6. Prepare for scenario interviews. Expect questions such as "A truck misses its delivery appointment and the customer is angry. What do you do in the first hour?" Answer with steps: confirm facts with the carrier, inform the customer with a new time, log the issue and escalate if needed.
  7. Check the offer. Confirm the contract type, pay currency, payment method, notice period and working hours in writing before you start.

Common mistakes and scam warning signs

  • Trusting the aggregator tag. As shown above, "Africa" may mean South Africa only. Always open the original ad.
  • Searching one title. "Supply chain coordinator" and "freight coordinator" ads often describe identical work.
  • Ignoring hours. Accepting a US Pacific role, then burning out on 2am finishes, ends many remote logistics jobs early.
  • Paying for "dispatcher placement". Training sellers on social media sometimes promise US trucking dispatch jobs if you buy their course. A real employer will not charge you to apply, to be trained or to be "registered".
  • Sharing documents too early. Don't send your passport, BVN or bank login before a verified interview and written offer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a remote logistics coordinator job from Nigeria with no experience?

It is unlikely. The live ads we checked in October 2026 asked for prior logistics, freight, dispatch or operations experience. Build a year or two in an on-site Nigerian logistics or e-commerce operations job first, or start in remote customer support and move across.

What is the difference between a logistics coordinator and a freight dispatcher?

A dispatcher mainly assigns loads to drivers and trucks, usually for US trucking companies. A logistics coordinator manages the wider shipment process: carriers, delivery appointments, documents, delays and customer updates. Many coordinator roles include some dispatch work, so search both titles.

How much do remote logistics coordinators earn in dollars?

It depends on the employer and your location. One October 2026 agency ad for South Africa and the Philippines offered $9,600 to $12,000 a year (about ₦1.09m to ₦1.36m a month at ₦1,362 to $1, 23 October 2026). The US median for the broader logistician occupation is $82,320 a year (BLS, May 2025), but that figure applies to US-based workers.

Do I need CILT or CLTD to get hired?

No. Most coordinator ads ask for experience, communication skills and tools, not certificates. A CILT certificate is a lower-cost way to show grounding in logistics if you are switching careers. CLTD is better value once you already work in logistics and want EMEA or senior roles.

Are remote logistics jobs paid as employment or as contract work?

Both exist, but agency and freelance roles are usually contractor arrangements without benefits such as paid leave. Larger companies sometimes employ overseas staff through an employer of record (EOR). Check the contract wording before you sign.

What hours will I work for a US logistics company?

Expect afternoons and late evenings. A US Eastern 8am to 5pm shift runs from 1pm to 10pm in Lagos during US summer time and 2pm to 11pm from November to March. UK roles fit Nigerian daytime hours much better.

Which companies hire remote logistics coordinators from Nigeria?

We could not confirm a live October 2026 ad that named Nigeria for this exact title. The nearest matches were EMEA-wide roles and closed "worldwide" freelance roles. Search EMEA and worldwide ads, check the fine print, and set daily alerts, because eligible roles appear and close quickly.

Key takeaways

  • Remote logistics coordinator jobs open to Nigerians exist but are fewer than those for the US, the Philippines or South Africa, so search widely and often.
  • Search at least six job titles, because the same work is advertised as freight, shipment, dispatch or supply chain coordination.
  • Always open the original ad: in October 2026, a role tagged "Remote from Africa" was open only to South Africa and the Philippines.
  • EMEA-wide roles are the strongest match, especially where Nigerian import and customs knowledge is listed as a plus.
  • Agency pay for non-US coordinators sat around $800 to $1,000 a month in the ad we checked, far below the US benchmark.
  • Experience matters more than certificates. CILT and CLTD help most once you are already in logistics.
